Some design elements, such as the lion's mane and the cow's udders, require a slightly more complicated popcorn stitch. Even those who have never worked in the round before or made an adjustable ring will find that Abbondio's patterns provide a great introduction to that work. Most of the animals share the same basic body pattern, with the giraffe, mouse, panda, and hedgehog standing as the outliers; each of these four has a unique body type. Biographical Note:
Sarah Abbondio is a Danish/Swiss designer who has been interested in creating things since she was very little. She trained as a design engineer and has been working as a independent designer and product developer for several Danish brands.

Her interest in crochet started when her daughter was born and she wanted to create a unique toy for her. Sarah taught herself to crochet and it has been her primary hobby ever since. She lives in Denmark.
