Biographical Note:
Stephen Chan is Professor of International Relations in the University of London, and foundation Dean of Law and Social Sciences at the School of Oriental and African Studies. He has held visiting positions in many universities, lecturing on five continents, and has twice been Visiting Fellow at Queen Elizabeth House in Oxford. His major research interests are in African politics and in the composition of an ethics for international discourse that recognises the philosophical methodologies of different cultures.

Cerwyn Moore is a lecturer in the Department of Political Science and International Studies (POLSIS) at the University of Birmingham. He has written extensively on IR theory and political violence in the North Caucasus and has won a series of awards to study aspects of political violence, such as suicide attacks in Chechnya, and policies designed to counter terrorism in public places (with Jon Coaffee, Lee Bosher and David Fletcher). He also works on hermeneutic approaches to global politics.
